# Mega Evolution

### How to Obtain Key Stone

The **Key Stone** can be purchased from the PokeCoins Shop using in-game currency called **PokeCoins**.

### How to Obtain Mega Stones

Mega Stones can currently be obtained from the **Vote Crate**, which is accessible to all players.

In the future, Mega Stones will also be added to **Raid Den loot pools**, giving players another way to earn them through gameplay.

### How to Mega Evolve

To Mega Evolve in battle, you must have a **Key Stone** in your inventory, and your Pokemon must be holding its matching **Mega Stone**.. Once eligible, a **Mega Evolution** button will appear below your moveset. Press it, then select the move you want to use.

Mega Evolution is not just visual. When your Pokemon Mega Evolves, it changes to that Mega form’s battle stats and ability. For exact stats and abilities, players can search here [Pokemon Showdown](https://dex.pokemonshowdown.com/)
